There are many excellent free applications out there but these are our top five.

1. Google Chrome –  Chrome has replaced Firefox as our browser of choice.  Not only does it offer superior protection against malware by the way it sandboxes plugins, is it also the quickest way to surf the web..
2. CCleaner – CCleaner is a basically a system optimisation and cleaning tool as it removes unused files from your system allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also provides good privacy as it cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history.
